What is UTI Slip D-Mannose?

D-Mannose is a carbohydrate very similar to glucose, yet it is not readily metabolized by our bodies like glucose. Simply put, D-Mannose is just sugar, but not the type of sugar you are used to. Interestingly, the D-Mannose is chemically attracted to the lectins that the bacteria use to attach itself to the walls of the urinary tract. Think of the lectins as the suction cups on the tentacles of an octopus. The octopus grabs onto an object with it's tentacles but holds on tightly by contracting the suction cups. Anything that interferes with the ability of the suction cups to grip a surface will greatly reduce the ability of the octopus to "hang on." In a similar way, the D-Mannose occupies the lectins so that they are unable to hold on to the wall of the urinary track and the bacteria are flushed right out of the body during urination.

    Dear Ellen, Sixty three years ago I came home from my honeymoon with my first uti. I thought I was dying.     Absolute fan of D-Mannose

    This product was a life saver for me. I had been on antibiotics for over 2 years trying to get rid of UTI and bladder infection. I was beginning to think nothing was ever going to help. I started to have symptoms in my stomach. I got an infection in my bowels from all the antibiotics and had to be put in hospital for 7 days.     My first order of UTI Slip was nine years ago.I was desperate.I tried $$$ of unsuccessful solutions - including other company's D-Mannose. My doctor said the only way my UTIs would go away was to have a hysterectomy, so I did. Then to my shock and horror the UTI came back a month after ending post surgery antibiotics.I don't understand why WellnessPartners' product works while others do not. Don't mess with success. I urge anybody who is facing UTI woes to try UTI Slip. After taking this product, I have NEVER had another infection requiring antibiotics.Less than 10 times in the last 9 years I have increased my dose of 1,000 mg/day in response to a feeling of irritation...but that's all I ever have had to do...just increase the daily dose.
