Why...
The year was 1997.  Todd Greene had been sporting a shaved pate for five years.  Unfortunately shaving was not a 'good' experience.  In truth, it was an inconvenience.  But, through thick and thin, he was committed to the shaved look.

He tried clippers. He tried electrics.  He even tried depilatories.   After settling for a conventional razor, Todd realized the handle was his nemisis.

The blades were good but the handles were unfit for the job.  If there was a way for the hand to become the 'handle' Todd figured he may have, indeed, the ultimate headshaving razor.

After two years of constant testing and development Todd brought his invention to the market and christened it "The HeadBlade."

Since that day, tens of thousands of HeadBlade users have never looked back because, with the HeadBlade, they don't need to.

How...
Unlike a conventional razor, the HeadBlade makes your hand (and fingers) the handle.  This gives you more control.  When your fingers can touch your scalp you have a much better understanding or "feel" of what you're doing.

The patented suspension of the HeadBlade gives you even more control; you don't have to worry about the angle of the blade.  Think of a conventional handled razor.  It's like a unicycle and only touches your head at one point (where the blade is).  This is very difficult to control (both the angle and pressure of the blade).  Especially if your fingers aren't in contact with your scalp.   The HeadBlade, in contrast, has a suspension and touches your head in two places; like a bicycle.

It may seem strange at first, but with the HeadBlade you lead with the blade.  Why?  Because that's the right way.  If the blade was on back it would end up moving laterally across your head and you'd get plenty of "paper cuts."  Not good.

Like a bike, you don't put any weight on the handlebars.  So don't put any pressure on the blade.  Just make sure the blade and back pad are in contact with the scalp, then take long smooth strokes.  You'll get the best shave ever...Guaranteed!

Q:  I need to know what the HeadBlade® uses for replacement blades.  And how do I change the freakin' blade?

A:  The HeadBlade® accepts the Gillette® Atra® pivoting twin blades.  Look for the NEW  Gillette® Atra® with Comfort Blade in your local store.  This amazing blade utilizes the MachIII technology.  Please follow this link to Gillette's website to learn more (will open new window).   We are not affilliated with Gillette but we do think their blades are excellent.

Q:  I can't read.  Do you have an illustration that shows how to use this smart little invention?

A:  Yep! This is picture from our instruction book that comes with each HeadShave™

Q:  Why is the blade in the front of the HeadBlade® and why do I push instead of pull it? Should I apply pressure?

A: After extensive development it was found that the automatically pivoting blade of the HeadBlade® had to be in front. Pulling the blade across your head creates lateral movement of the blade which results in nicks and cuts. Pushing the blade eliminates lateral movement. And no, you don't need to press down on the razor (no press down big boy). The only pressure you need to put is on back pad to make sure it stays in contact with your scalp.

Q:   My fingers go up and down in size (mostly in girth) depending on the weather.  Is the HeadBlade® adjustable?

A:  Yes.  The HeadBlade® is made out of a high quality plastic (it contains a lot of rubber) and the ring can be adjusted to just about any finger size.  To adjust your HeadBlade® warm the ring with a hair dryer (not your own of course) and then gently manipulate the ring to the appropriate size.

Q:   How long will it take to rid myself of the bad habits accumulated over years of shaving with a conventional razor to fully appreciate this new method?

A:  The HeadBlade® fits right inside the palm of your hand and you may get the hang of it right off. But be patient, it may take you three to five shaves before you become fully comfortable with the HeadBlade® and its revolutionary method (if you didn't pass 4th grade you may experience a longer learning curve). Once you do get the feel of the HeadBlade® you'll see your shaving time cut dramatically.  And you'll get a better shave.

Q:   The razor looks really big, like the size of a small to medium size compact car.   Can it really be that big?

A:  No.  The HeadBlade® design was strongly influenced by automotive design but make no mistake, at less than 2.5" long you won't drive it south of your shoulders (unless you like that sort of thing).  It's really not that big, unless you're really really small.

Q:   What kind of moisturizer should I use on my scalp?

A:   You should use a non-comedogenic cream (won't clog pores) which is available in your local grocery or retail drug-store.  Here are a few products that fit the bill:   Almay, Aquaderm, Aveeno, Cetaphil, DML, Eucerin, Lubrex, Moisturel, Neutrogena, Nutraderm 30, Penkera, and Theraplex.  When in doubt check the label.   If you're still not sure ask the first person in the store who strikes your fancy.

Q:  Do you have a guarantee?

A: Yes.  We are a small start-up company and customer satisfaction means the world to us.  We warrant against any manufacturer defects and if you are not happy with your razor for any reason in the first 30 days, please send back the unused portion and we will credit your account for the product amount.  Please note that we do not refund shipping charges.

With regular use the HeadBlade should last a year.  After eight to nine months you should consider shelling out for a new one.
